CUPE, SEIU- West and SGEU Health Providers are formalizing their commitment to working together.
In April, CUPE Members committed to a Bargaining Association and movement to one Collective Agreement for all Healthcare providers when the tentative agreement was ratified. At the 2019 AGM, Members endorsed the Bargaining Association with a motion to move forward to develop a Bargaining Association with the Saskatchewan Government Employees Union (SGEU Health Providers) and Service Employees International Union (West) (SEIU – West) to be ratified by the CUPE Local 5430 Membership.
In September, we are holding Membership meetings in each region to share information about the Bargaining Association, answer questions and have the Association approved by the Membership.
CUPE Local 5430 is the largest health care union in Saskatchewan, representing over 13,600 members. We represent a wide range of health care providers in five major classification areas: clerical, technical, nursing, support and plant operations. Together, we each contribute to the well-being of hospital patients, long-term care residents and home care clients.
