Bargaining Updates

Bargaining Update #2

May 8 -10 bargaining sessions held in Saskatoon

Offers exchanged in open and respectful dialogue

We met with SAHO along with SGEU and SEIU West on Tuesday, May 8. SAHO gave their proposals to each of the unions and we gave them our separate package. Bargaining between your CUPE Bargaining Committee
and SAHO continued on May 9 and 10.

CUPE's proposal package included issues identified by members including priorities of parity items such as wage premiums, overtime rates, benefits, and professional fees. Other priorities include recruitment and retention

Discussions were open and respectful and we are hopeful that negotiations will continue in this tone and that we are able to reach a fair contract in a reasonable timeframe.

CUPE will continue to work in solidarity with the other health care provider unions, SEIU West and SGEU.

Proud members of your CUPE health care bargaining committee are Gordon Campbell (Chair); Pearl Blommaert (Vice Chair); Sandra Seitz (Recording Secretary); Jim Carr (Treasurer); Carol McKnight (Local 4777); Scott McDonald (Local 3967); Rhonda Oneschuk (Local 4980); Brian Manegre (Local 5111); Wanda Edwards (Local 5999); and CUPE National Servicing Representatives Suzanne Posyniak (Provincial Health Sector Coordinator);
Will Bauer; Patty Brockman; and Alistair MacKenzie.

We're pleased with the face-to-face discussion but we have a long way to go to reach a fair collective agreement. Our next bargaining dates are set for May 23, 24 and 25 in Regina.

In solidarity,
Your CUPE Bargaining Committee
