Bargaining Updates

Bargaining Update #1

April 24 - 26 bargaining sessions cancelled by employer

Employer coming to table with a monetary offer

CUPE and SAHO were scheduled to meet this Tuesday, April 24 to start negotiating our collective agreement. Last week, SAHO told us that this bargaining session was cancelled because the regional health employers
have decided to table a monetary proposal at our first bargaining session and needed more time to prepare. SAHO proposed to table their comprehensive proposal package, including a monetary offer, with all
three provider unions on May 8.

CUPE has always maintained the position that SAHO and the regional health employers should come to the bargaining table with a monetary proposal up front. Failure to do so was a significant barrier to getting a
timely agreement in our last bargaining round.

CUPE and the other provider unions, SEIU West and SGEU, will meet with SAHO and the regional health employers on May 8 and 9 in Saskatoon. CUPE and SAHO will continue to bargain on May 10. We look forward to
productive discussions.

Bargaining dates for May 29 to 31 have been rescheduled to May 23 to 25.

In solidarity,
Your CUPE Bargaining Committee
