Dear Valued Member:
Your bargaining committee has just completed five membership meetings where we presented our proposal package. We recognize that on the heels of the holidays it is a difficult time to add in a union meeting, however, your support and participation are critical for our success at the bargaining table.
We would like to thank all those who attended. Your thoughtful feedback is invaluable as we work towards finalizing our proposals.
The bargaining committee has received an overwhelming endorsement for the proposals presented.
If you were unable to attend a presentation, please reach out to your local office. Your bargaining committee is committed to continuous, open communication with the membership; therefore, we would be happy to schedule more meetings in the new year to inform those who couldn't join us this time around.
Our current collective agreement expires on March 31, 2023. In the new year, we will serve notice to the Employer of our intent to bargain. Your bargaining committee members are the ones sitting at the bargaining table, but the membership is the force that achieves results.
Keeping yourself informed, attending meetings, seeking and sharing information and responding when your bargaining committee calls on you is what will make this round of bargaining successful. We look forward to a united front when we enter bargaining. Let's work together for better wages, language and working conditions.
We wish everyone a restful, happy holiday and prosperity in the New Year!
In solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee:
