Dear CUPE member:
CUPE 5430 is pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement (in principle) regarding the transition of Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) Information Technology (IT) services employees to eHealth.
These difficult negotiations began in the spring of 2018 and have lasted more than four years. Since the announcement in 2018, our members in IT services around the province have been waiting to move forward with their lives, unsure of who their employer is, unsure about the future of their work, and unsure if they will keep their jobs.
Though the pandemic played a significant part in the delay of this transition, negotiations resumed in March 2022. After an intense four months of negotiations, we were able to reach a fair deal which protects the rights of our members going over to eHealth. Moving forward, SHA members moving to eHealth will remain ‘whole’ with regards to their salary, sick leave, vacation, health benefits, seniority, and their defined benefit pension plans.
The SHA has set the transition date for September 25, 2022. Once all parties have signed the agreement, eHealth and the SHA will meet with all affected IT employees throughout August and September to go through their options. Each member will have union representation during their meeting with the employer to ensure that all of the information they need to make a decision is available.
