As many of you are aware, on April 18, the Saskatchewan Health Authority issued a memo announcing a province-wide review of security services, using an external consultant named Tony Weeks.

At no time has the union been notified of the intention to review security services in the province. In fact, we were only made aware of this announcement by our membership, after the release of the memo.

Unfortunately, this lack of notification, communication, and consultation is typical of our experiences with the SHA.

We have many questions for the SHA about this planned review of security services. We will raise these questions at a Labour-Management meeting taking place on Monday, April 23.

We ask that any potentially relevant information that members encounter on this topic be passed along to Local 5430 by contacting your regional office.

We will keep you updated on further developments as we receive more information.

Our local is strongest when members are informed and engaged. Thank you for reading this message.
