We wanted to reach out to our IT members.
The Health Services Provider Unions Association, CUPE, SEIU-West, and SGEU, want to provide our members who work in information technology classifications with the SHA with an update on discussions about the movement of IT staff to eHealth.
After having reviewed both the provincial auditor’s report in December and the more recent investigation report of the Saskatchewan information and privacy commissioner, the health care provider unions have taken the position that the employers must suspend the proposed movement of SHA IT staff to eHealth until such time as they have completed a number of key recommendations that are required as a result of these two processes of inquiry.
The SHA and eHealth need some time to establish stability within the overall management structure and determine the roles and responsibilities of each organization with respect to oversight and monitoring vital health information for Saskatchewan residents.
We will do our best to keep you informed as information comes available.
In solidarity,
